Today I’m writing about the Eclectic Style. When I hear this word Eclectic I remember the TV series “Frasier” where Frasier Crane states proudly that his high-end apartment in Seattle is furnished in the eclectic style. For him this meant mostly a mix of culture styles such as European, African, Asian and other.
Well, eclectic means a combination of different individual elements of styles, themes, mediums and inspiration from many sources. This variety of periods and styles are held together through the use of color, texture, shape and finish. Let’s take a look at how you can create an eclectic style in your tiny house, small apartment, even RV or houseboat.
There is not a lot of space in a tiny house, a small apartment, an RV or houseboat. I don’t need to tell you that. So seeing my post about console tables may let you think that this kind of furniture might be superfluous. Well, it isn’t. The obvious advantage of a console table lies in its unique shape.
Most probably you have somewhere in your tiny home an unusually spaced place that is just difficult to be furnished. Having an unused space in a tiny home always makes me think of how to take advantage of it, how to use it perfectly. Console tables come to mind when it is about unusually shaped spaces.
Nightstands can be “business as usual”, meaning headboard set with nightstands, floating wall mount nightstands or they can be really extravagant. Which styling type are you? I admit I totally like all kinds of unusual ideas as nightstands. The great thing about being inventive with how your nightstands should look like is that their unique and personal look makes your tiny home, tiny house, small apartment or even RV and houseboat, immediately very interesting.
Take a look at the following 5 totally unusual furniture and things that you can use as nightstands. You might find the perfect solution for your bedroom decor – or you get motivated to look even more around for other innovative ideas.
If you rather like to get a whole set of a certain type of furniture such as a bar table set than to combine single bar tables eclectically with single bar stools, then you have found here the perfect post. I presented already Bistro table sets that are aesthetically pleasing and don’t take away too much space. Well, bar table sets belong in the same category. They are just perfect for tiny homes such as small apartments, houseboats and tiny houses.
I think, the decision if bistro table set or bar table set depends on your personal preference, the style of your home and of course, on the available space. I can tell you this secret: I actually wouldn’t be able to decide between the two options. Both are totally aesthetically appealing and perfectly functional space savers. Both styles I could picture in our tiny kitchen. A difficult decision.
Sets of furniture are just as perfect for tiny living as multi-functional furniture. A bedroom set is definitely one you should take a closer look at. You find bedroom sets with three pieces such as headboard, bed and nightstand or with four pieces where a dresser is added to the set. Isn’t this a great solution for all kinds of tiny living such as tiny house, small apartment, even houseboat or RV?
Of course you can go with a Folding Sofa Bed Futon, a Daybed with Storage or even a Chair Folding Bed. But the one great advantage of getting a bedroom set is that you don’t need to look for fitting furniture around your bed. With one purchase you can get a whole set in one style and create with it calmness and comfort in your bedroom.
In tiny kitchens or living places you have to rely on tiny furniture that provide the same comfort and look than any big furniture. Tables, I mean dining tables, are one of them. If you have already gorgeous bar stools you might be interested in accompanying them with an even more awesome bar table.
This post is dedicated to bar tables and not full bar table sets with bar stools. Bar tables or also called pub tables are just perfect for any tiny living place such as small apartment, tiny house and even RV and houseboats. They look absolutely elegant and don’t take away too much space. Because they are so lightweight you can move them around as you wish.
This is a furniture I had in my first tiny one-room apartment in Switzerland: a freestanding bookshelf as room divider between my living and sleeping space. My bookshelf was long, but only about 4 feet tall in order to give free view to the only window I had there. If you live in a tiny house or small apartment you might take a look at this ingenious piece of furniture.
Well, I don’t really need to speak about the advantages of a freestanding bookcase because they are so obvious. But because I like this kind of furniture so much I do it anyway. Imagine you can have a wall where you want it, build one here or take a wall away over there. Your flexible wall, well, is the freestanding bookshelf.
The bed is one furniture that takes away a lot of precious space which is important if you live in a tiny place such as a small apartment, tiny house or houseboat. But we can’t be without bed. So, what is to be done? A bed that is comfortable, well-sized and multi-functional is the answer. How about a daybed with storage?
I researched about these daybeds with storage and found 4 great models that are really beautiful, sturdy enough to last a life time and still don’t take away too much of your valuable living space. On the other hand a daybed may be interesting for you as guest bed or teen bed. I just love its convertibility.
Living in a tiny place means that you don’t have a spacious room available for a large dining table with 6 or more big chairs. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a decent place for dining in your small home. Although I suggested in another post that even a nice end table can be used as a dining table for one person, I think having a dining set, if the place is available, is more eye-pleasing and comfortable. Not to mention that with a dining set you can have easily friends over for dinner.
How about a Bistro Dining Set? They are perfect for a one or two person household and create a great Parisian vacation ambiance. You will find Bistro Dining Sets that are foldable for easy storage or transportation. This might be interesting for you living in a RV or houseboat. Otherwise you just push the chairs under the table creating that way space when you don’t need your dining set.
